Andy Watmuff

Director and founder of Core Skills Coaching C.I.C. born and bred in the City of Bradford. I initially left education in 1985, with very little in the way of qualifications and went into professional sport. Upon leaving professional sport I found myself moving from job to job which was back then and easy thing to do. It was through my semi professional football club I was given an opportunity to work as an insurance man. I didn’t really see this as me at the time for a number of reasons, but due to the respect I had for the individual who employed me at the time who I met through sport I went on to spend 16 years in financial services gaining all the qualifications I needed to do my job.

In 2003 I needed a change, through working in financial services we had a lot of opportunities to play golf, which I became reasonably good at. I went and undertook a golf teaching qualification and a number of other coaching and activity based qualifications. My and our work with Core Skills Coaching C.I.C. is to give created chances and opportunities to all members of our society in fulfilling their potential, enjoying and achieving on the way, creating healthier active citizens.

Andrew Taylor Board Member

I am currently the Headteacher of a secondary school in Bradford. I firmly believe that education is the key to unlocking opportunities and maximising the potential each and every one has, whatever that may be. I was and continue to be a keen sportsman, with golf now being the sport I participate in most often. It is for these two reasons that I became a board member of Core Skills Coaching C.I.C., as I saw what was being undertaken by them as a way of fulfilling two great passions in my life.

There is a fundamental need for the schools and services to work with its parents / local community / external providers to secure success for its students. The truly inclusive ethos that I firmly believe in can only happen if the partnership between these parties exists.

The programmes  being offered by Core Skills Coaching C.I.C. delivers knowledge and understanding of the wider experiences of life needed by students; teamwork, control, discipline, healthy lifestyle, recognition of others and differences of individuals as well as high expectations and aspiration of self which all contribute to positive outcomes for individual.

The moral purpose that underpins my beliefs in education are based on fundamental principles;

  • To maximise student potential and outcomes through quality teaching and learning.
  • To embed inclusive education for all.
  • To raise aspirations for all stakeholders, staff, students, parents and Governors.
  • To secure a safe and happy learning environment.
  • To make a school a beacon of the community and the best school it has the potential to become.

This is my opinion is enhanced by the provision on offer and delivered by Core Skills Coaching C.I.C. and whoever you are, whatever walk of life you come from I believe that the opportunities given by this programme impact positively on those individuals involved.
